Terms of Service

Last updated September 18, 2026

These terms govern your use of the Codiv website and API at codiv.ai (“the Service”). By creating an account or using an API key, you agree to them. If you use the Service for an organization, you agree on its behalf.

The Service

Codiv serves open System One models, such as OpenJev, that return probabilistic answers (yes/no, choice and score) to questions about data you provide. The OpenJev server software is open source under the Apache License 2.0; these terms cover only the hosted Service, not your use of the open-source code.

Free public experiment

  • The Service is currently a free public experiment. Each account receives a free allowance of input tokens (see your dashboard). We may change allowances, rate limits, models and features. We will not charge you without your explicit agreement.
  • Experiment means things may change, break or be unavailable. There is no uptime commitment.

Your account

  • Provide accurate information and keep your credentials and API keys secret. You are responsible for activity under your account and keys. Revoke a key if you think it has leaked.
  • One account per person. Do not create multiple accounts to get extra free quota.
  • You must be at least 16 years old, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • break the law, or use the Service to harass, defraud, discriminate against or harm others;
  • send content you have no right to process, or personal data of others without a lawful basis;
  • use the Service as the sole basis for decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on people (for example credit, employment, housing, medical or legal matters) without meaningful human review;
  • probe, overload or disrupt the Service, get around rate limits or quotas, or access it other than through the documented API and website;
  • resell or sublicense access to the hosted Service without our written permission.

We may suspend or disable accounts or keys that break these rules, or to protect the Service and its users.

Your content

You keep all rights to the data you send and the answers you receive. You give us permission to process your content only as needed to provide the Service. We do not store API request content or use it to train models; see the Privacy Policy.

Outputs

Answers are generated by a machine-learning model and can be wrong, even when reported with high confidence. Evaluate outputs for your use case, and do not rely on them where errors could cause harm.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US $50.

Ending use

You can stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or end the Service, or your access to it, at any time, with notice where reasonably possible.

Independence

Codiv and OpenJev are independent projects and are not affiliated with or endorsed by TypeSafe AI. “Jev” is a model by TypeSafe AI; compatibility with its API is provided for interoperability.

Changes

We may update these terms. We will change the date above and, for material changes, notify you by email or on the website before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service afterwards means you accept the new terms.
